The candidates economic plan will obviously have an impact upon the notary industry as the government attempts to respond to the mortgage crisis. Whoever becomes the president may indicate how America feels the situation should be handled.

Here's a quick look at each candidates positions:

I tried not to reply, but I just have to! personally speaking, I don't think the government should get involved with bailing anyone out of trouble. We all signed our loan docs freely and we all promised to pay back the money we owed pursuant to the terms agreed upon. The industry is supposed to be heavily regulated but clearly, it's not. Pressure from brokers and lenders to inflate home prices "or else" caused appraisers to make poor decisions and now, it's all caught up and we're in trouble. My home appraised for $845K 18 months ago and now I'd be lucky to get $450K plus I have a variable that's going to increase next month.... MY Decision at the time of signing and if the lender is not willing to work with us, I'm stuck. I call this accountability. Okay, off my box! kelly

Regardless of who is elected, things will "magically" improve not long after the election.
Why?

Because our economy issues are tied to consumer confidence and our underlying economy is strong...regardless of what you have heard/read/felt.
