- I was once a Loan Officer and hired notaries to perform my closings. I worked long hours (70+) in a cubicle with no windows, and so I envied the freedom "my" notaries enjoyed and the fact that they got to meet my borrowers face to face. When my kids were tiny, I quit my loan officer job and set out to work for myself as a Signing Agent. I love my job and could never go back to sitting in an office all day! I started out in Southern California and now operate in Kentucky. One of the added perks of being a signing agent in KY is that every drive to a closing/signing is a scenic drive!
